One thing that a majority of the world population has in their bucket list for certain, is to travel. The reason behind this, or at least what I assume to be the reason is simple; the freedom that comes with exploring the unknown. Sure, having a tour guide take you around and show you all the best spots while clicking away all the cliché pictures that shall soon be uploaded onto your Instagram after a bit of tweaking and editing sounds fun. But the real excitement of travelling lies in the tiny roads and corner cafés. Long walks that end in a surprisingly quaint spot that you discover for yourself and call your own.

I remember reading 'Me Before You' a very popular book turned movie, written by Jojo Moyes. In it the lead male character, speaks of a place in Paris that he wants Lou, the female lead, to someday visit. As you read or watch the movie, you can almost feel the love he has and the longing to go back to what he calls his favorite spot in the whole wide world. That is the way I hope to feel about the places I go.

The thing is, the places you visit to quench the thirst of wanderlust needn't be far from your reach. A few days ago a couple of friends and I had gone to a popular spot in my locality. We took the ferry and walked once we reached the place and then went on to walk around. The antique shops, pretty little houses that adorned the roads and the clear sky together created the perfect day. The company of the people I hold close to my heart were definitely an added bonus.

What makes these experiences special is not where we are or how far we are from home.. It's the way it makes you feel. Calm. Liberated. And above all, happy.

So whatever it is, or wherever it is, just go. You deserve to feel liberated and at peace. You deserve happiness. If you can find joy in what lies ahead, then do everything in your power to attain it.

Until next time,

The Invisible Wordsmith.
